2 Corinthians 1-7: Come Follow Me with Sam
Welcome!
With my new calling in my unity, my normal time for writing my blog posts has been interrupted. Stake Conference was today so I'm making the most of it to catch up! These will be short, but one day I plan to add more detail.
Top 3 things to think about in 2 Corinthians 1-7
1. 1:4-5
4 Who comforteth us in all our atribulation, that we may be able to comfort them which are in any trouble, by the bcomfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God.
5 For as the asufferings of Christ abound in us, so our consolation also aboundeth by Christ.
there is a chinese (Buddist?) phrase I learned: Having passed through suffering, one can now relieve the suffering of others. If we have Christ's sufferings abound in us, we can so much the better help others through His power.
2. 3:2-3
2 Ye are our aepistle written in our hearts, known and read of all men:
3 Forasmuch as ye are manifestly declared to be the epistle of Christ ministered by us, awritten not with ink, but with the Spirit of the living God; not in btables of stone, but in cfleshy tables of the dheart.
This is a beautiful emphasis on Christ's gospel as a living gospel. We can always look into our gospel practices and seek greater life and light in them to approach the savior
3. 4:7-10
7 But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the apower may be of God, and not of us.
8 We are atroubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in bdespair;
9 aPersecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not bdestroyed;
10 Always bearing about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our body.
This can be us, whatever our trials
