Some Wisdom

I found these verses to be worth pondering. I'm sure there's many times where we Latter-day saints of the church of Jesus Christ have been clobbered in arguments, and other times where we have been overly contentious. So we know this isn't a guarantee that anyone who decides to defend the church or Jesus Christ will automatically win. But its clear that these promises are to those who 'understand and receive also'

5 Now, behold this is wisdom; whoso readeth, let him aunderstand and breceive also;

6 For unto him that receiveth it shall be given more aabundantly, even power.

7 Wherefore, aconfound your benemies; call upon them to cmeet you both in public and in private; and inasmuch as ye are faithful their dshame shall be made manifest.

8 Wherefore, let them bring forth their astrong reasons against the Lord.

9 Verily, thus saith the Lord unto you—there is no aweapon that is formed against you shall prosper;

10 And if any man lift his voice against you he shall be aconfounded in mine own due time.

11 Wherefore, akeep my commandments; they are true and faithful. Even so. Amen.

 Welcome! Une drole d'Eglise Paul shows how the jewish 'church', their ecclesiastical organization and understanding, is in chaos  - the chief priest, guardian of the law is he who violates the law - the different sects are squabbling amongst themselves, in one moment more eager to persecute paul, in the next moment more eager to prosecute their adversaries' contrary ideas - 40 of them straight up swore an oath to murder. This is deeply badness shizam. - they describe the 'quietness' they so desire and that paul is a 'pestilent fellow' interrupting their serenity. Bonus! the Simple Gospel of the Way

 Am I writing a Gnostic text? I definitely titled this blog post like one. Maybe we should turn it over to the scholars and ask how close I got. Or maybe I'll be able to ask the gnostics one day. I'd like to share something I am calling the Simple Gospel of the Way. I'm sure many of you have been taught the gospels, the plan of salvation, or something similar to map your vector relation with God. Here is an approach that I hope helps. 1. We are separated from God. (Hopefully no surprises here.) Everything we do is to get back to Him. We are trying to close the separation. We are trying to become One with Him. This is the most important singular concept I can think of. When we understand this, everything else falls into place.  1.1 This is not simply a separation of physical distance.
