Philippians; Colossians - Come follow me with Sam

With my new calling in my unity, my normal time for writing my blog posts has been interrupted. I'm playing some catch-up today!


Top 3 things to think about in Philippians;Colossians


1. Philipians 2:1-5

1 If there be therefore any consolation in Christ, if any comfort of love, if any fellowship of the Spirit, if any abowels and mercies,

2 Fulfil ye my joy, that ye be likeminded, having the same alove, being of bone caccord, of one mind.

3 Let nothing be done through astrife or vainglory; but in lowliness of mind let each besteem other better than themselves.

4 Look not every man on his own things, but every man also on the things of others.

5 Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:

Paul makes a super simple fundamentals of the gospel course in these 5 verses. 

 1. if you want to get anywhere close to christ

2. find the joy of the true one heart one mind

3. adopt the christlike attitude

4. treat you neighbor as yourself

5. 5 is technically a teaser to a few other verses that teach you to become like Christ which is to be like God

2. Philippians 2:19-21

 19 But I trust in the Lord Jesus to send Timotheus shortly unto you, that I also may be of good comfort, when I know your state.

20 For I have no man likeminded, who will naturally care for your state.

21 For all aseek their bown, not the things which are Jesus Christ’s.

a double point of Timothy's marked maturity despite his jeunesse, and an observation from Paull that all still council in their own hearts.

3. Philippians 4:4-5

4 Rejoice in the Lord alway: and again I say, Rejoice.

5 Let your amoderation be known unto all men. The Lord is at hand.

There are a lot of talks of what moderation means or doesn't mean. In French this word is 'douceur', gentleness meaning something like that mentioned above christlike attributes

Acts 22-28 - come follow me with Sam!

 Welcome! Une drole d'Eglise Paul shows how the jewish 'church', their ecclesiastical organization and understanding, is in chaos  - the chief priest, guardian of the law is he who violates the law - the different sects are squabbling amongst themselves, in one moment more eager to persecute paul, in the next moment more eager to prosecute their adversaries' contrary ideas - 40 of them straight up swore an oath to murder. This is deeply badness shizam. - they describe the 'quietness' they so desire and that paul is a 'pestilent fellow' interrupting their serenity. Bonus! the Simple Gospel of the Way

 Am I writing a Gnostic text? I definitely titled this blog post like one. Maybe we should turn it over to the scholars and ask how close I got. Or maybe I'll be able to ask the gnostics one day. I'd like to share something I am calling the Simple Gospel of the Way. I'm sure many of you have been taught the gospels, the plan of salvation, or something similar to map your vector relation with God. Here is an approach that I hope helps. 1. We are separated from God. (Hopefully no surprises here.) Everything we do is to get back to Him. We are trying to close the separation. We are trying to become One with Him. This is the most important singular concept I can think of. When we understand this, everything else falls into place.  1.1 This is not simply a separation of physical distance.
