James - Come Follow Me with Sam

         Welcome!

With my new calling in my unity, my normal time for writing my blog posts has been interrupted. I'm playing some catch-up today!

James has the famous 1:5 verse. I won't comment on that (besides read and understand it :) and focus on the harder to find things

Top 3 things to think about in James

1. 1:3-4

Knowing this, that the atrying of your faith worketh bpatience.

But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be aperfect and entire, wanting nothing.

I love the verses before key scriptures. They can change the entire meaning of the famous line; not in its contrary position per se, but in its fulfilling position.

If Joseph smith had understood these words, do you think he would have had the courage to carry out his prayer :D :D :D :D :D: :D

These words, these two simple verses all at once terrify me and fill me with awe and wonder and worship. May you be more fortunate (or in God's eyes, less fortunate?) to handle them better than me.

2.1:25-26

25 But whoso looketh into the perfect alaw of bliberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed.

26 If any man among you seem to be religious, and bridleth not his atongue, but deceiveth his own heart, this man’s religion is bvain.

27 Pure areligion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To bvisit the cfatherless and dwidows in their eafflictionand to keep himself funspotted from gthe hworld.

The foundation of what's necessary to save any nation from the judgement of God is contained in these 3 verses.

3. 5:15
15 And the aprayer of bfaith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be cforgiven him.

when giving a prayer, think first on healing of the mind and heart, and secondly of any temporal ailments that hinder you.
