Hebrews 7-13

        Welcome!

With my new calling in my unity, my normal time for writing my blog posts has been interrupted. I'm playing some catch-up today!

There are a lot of foundation principles in Hebrews. It is like this book can be a lot more clear because the people have the scriptural foundation to understand the doctrine, vs other peoples who would struggle with it more.

I mentioned faith in the last blog post. Hebrews 11 is a recitation of of the acts of faith and some help in what we can learn from them. I am going to skip that chapter since it is most well-known, and focus on some of the lesser known chapters instead.

Top 3 things to think about in Hebrews 7-13

1. 8:9-11

Not according to the acovenant that I made with their fathers in the day when I took them by the hand to lead them out of the land of Egypt; because they continued not in my covenant, and I regarded them not, saith the Lord.

10 For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, saith the Lord; I will put my alaws into their bmind, and write them in their chearts: and I will be to them a God, and they shall be to me a people:

11 And they shall not teach every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the Lord: for all shall know me, from the least to the greatest.

Remember, we are all practicing until God Himself tells us 'you made it to the real thing'...

2. 10:1-9

For the alaw having a bshadow of good things to come, and not the very image of the things, can never with those sacrifices which they offered cyear by year continually make the comers thereunto perfect.

For then would they not have ceased to be offered? because that the worshippers once apurged should have had no more bconscience of sins.

But in those asacrifices there is a bremembrance again made of sins every year.

For it is not possible that the blood of bulls and of goats should take away sins.

Wherefore when he cometh into the world, he saith, Sacrifice and offering thou wouldest not, but a body hast thou prepared me:

In burnt offerings and asacrifices for sin thou hast had no pleasure.

Then said I, Lo, I come (in the volume of the book it is written of me,) to do thy will, O God.

Above when he said, Sacrifice and offering and burnt offerings and offering for sin thou wouldest not, neither hadst pleasure therein; which are offered by the law;

Then said he, Lo, I come to do thy will, O God. He taketh away the first, that he may establish the second.

...or in other words... this

3. 12:27-13:1

27 And this word, Yet once more, signifieth the removing of those things that are shaken, as of things that are made, that those things which cannot be shaken may remain.

28 Wherefore we receiving a kingdom which cannot be moved, let us have grace, whereby we may serve God acceptably with areverence and godly bfear:

29 For our God is a consuming fire.

Let abrotherly blove continue.

Compare this to 2 Nephi 4 and 1 John 4
