John 2-4 Come Follow Me with Sam

 Welcome!

Hot takes on miracles and stories

Wine in Cana - the elements obey Christ not only in substance, but also in what we would call time - the wine was aged.

overthrowing the tables of the money changers - As Tolkien would describe it, an elf-lord was revealed in his  wrath. Both the reaction of Christ and the despoiling of the sacred things by the money changers have significant lessons

Destroy this temple, and I will raise it in 3 days - Christ was teaching the disciples things they weren't ready for, but could key in later due to later events.

Nicodemus - look at these verses to learn the lesson

11 aVerily, verily, I say unto thee, We speak that we do know, and btestify that we have seen; and ye receive not our witness.

12 If I have told you earthly things, and ye abelieve not, how shall ye believe, if I tell you of heavenly things?

This verse

17 For God asent not his Son into the world to bcondemn the world; but that the world through him might be csaved.

this is a major difference between Satan's plan and Christ's plan. In both we are in a fallen state short of the glory of God. In Satan's plan, the accuser shows we are not enough, but he does not help us become enough of our selves, but according to his theoretical plan, be stopped from not being enough, which sounds to me like damnation in our current state.

In Christ's plan, we know we have far to go, but through Him, we can overcome all things.

Next verses - tell me if you get how these relate to what is above

18 ¶ He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that abelieveth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the bname of the only begotten cSon of God.

19 And this is the condemnation, that alight is come into the world, and men loved bdarkness rather than light, because their cdeeds were evil.

The samaritan woman - this is a great example of a questioning, curious, hopeful attitude that leads us to light.

The second law of the harvest - what we do is based on groundwork that others have done. We should be grateful and render that which is due.
