D&C 121-123 - Come Follow Me with Sam

 Welcome! D&C 121 -123 are very rich. There is a lot going on in my life right now, so I don't have the time to do these sections justice. I'm going to give some pointers to help, and hopefully I can come back to this sometime and add to what there is to find.


Section 121

section 121 starts out with soul cry. soul cry is a plea that goes beyond flesh and goes beyond emotion or feeling and comes straight from one eternal being to another eternal being. From a soul to a soul, so to speak. When this happens, the universe hears, and feels it. That is one of the reasons these next sections are so rich.

By the way, I think everything we do, good or bad, happy or sad, is soul cry to God's ears.

Here, God answers with a reminder that He knows what is happening, He is a God of Justice, a God of Mercy, and a God by which all things will flow according to His Order. <- keep this last part in mind for the rest of the section.

He says something very interesting in part 3: For God shall give unto every man according as his works shall be. Check out what the verses say about what this means. its big. Its mega big. Its actually everything. There is foreshadowing here to other sections by the way.

Part 4 is a bit of an exposition on the weakness of man in following God's Law

This section ends with such a fascinating concept - thy dominion shall be an everlasting dominion, and without compulsory means it shall flow unto thee forever and ever. There is so much to learn about the eternal order of things from this one phrase

Section 122

I honestly hope you never understand Section 122. It is like masterclass from section 121 and the master class is great and terrible. There is a price to pay to understand that lesson. Maybe the greatest lesson is in verse 8

8 The aSon of Man hath bdescended below them all. Art thou greater than he?

Section 123

Section 123 refers to making a witness, and doing so in a way that asks for justice, not revenge, with cheerfulness, not bitterness

Acts 22-28 - come follow me with Sam!

 Welcome! Une drole d'Eglise Paul shows how the jewish 'church', their ecclesiastical organization and understanding, is in chaos  - the chief priest, guardian of the law is he who violates the law - the different sects are squabbling amongst themselves, in one moment more eager to persecute paul, in the next moment more eager to prosecute their adversaries' contrary ideas - 40 of them straight up swore an oath to murder. Bonus! the Simple Gospel of the Way

 Am I writing a Gnostic text? I definitely titled this blog post like one. Maybe we should turn it over to the scholars and ask how close I got. Or maybe I'll be able to ask the gnostics one day. I'd like to share something I am calling the Simple Gospel of the Way. I'm sure many of you have been taught the gospels, the plan of salvation, or something similar to map your vector relation with God. Here is an approach that I hope helps. 1. We are separated from God. (Hopefully no surprises here.) Everything we do is to get back to Him. We are trying to close the separation. We are trying to become One with Him.
